The Booster Club welcomes your involvement!
CONCESSIONS
The Booster Club stocks and mans the concession stands in both gyms, collects gate fees, and provides mobile concessions on the fields for O’Neal Varsity, JV, and Middle School home athletic events including:
Volleyball and soccer matches in the fall
Basketball games and swim meets in the winter
Baseball games and soccer matches in the spring.
Profits from sales of drinks and snacks at the Booster Club concession stand and gate fees help fund approximately one-third of Booster Club purchases for the athletics programs.
Volunteers are needed to man the gate and concessions for all home games throughout each season. Parents of participating athletes are asked to help by manning the concession or gate during at least one game. To offer your help, please contact either:

LUNCH SALES
The Booster Club offers pre-ordered lunch for sale on select Fridays throughout the school year. This year, as in past years, the lunch offered is Peking Wok, a favorite with students and staff. Lunch sales are also a significant fund-raiser for the Booster Club.
Volunteers are needed to help serve the food for each of the following dates, from approximately 10:45AM - 1:15PM in the Dining Commons of Bradshaw Hall. Please contact either of the chairpersons below if you would like to offer your help on any of the dates listed.

TEAM PARENTS
Team Parents are coordinators between the Booster Club and the O’Neal Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School athletic teams. The function of a Team Parent varies with each sport but would include soliciting the help of parents of the team to man the gate and concession at home games and matches.
The current sports teams at O’Neal include:
Fall Sports:
Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Tennis and Volleyball, Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country
Winter Sports:
Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball and Swimming, Girls’ Cheerleading
Spring Sports:
Boys’ Baseball and Tennis, Girls’ Soccer, Boys’ and Girls’ Golf and Track and Field
If you have a student playing on a team at O’Neal and would like to volunteer to be the team parent for that sport, or if you’d be willing to Chair the Booster Club Team Parent Committee, please contact:
Karen Chamberlain, Team Parent Coordinator -- renny189@earthlink.net
ATHLETIC AWARDS
Recognition of the hardworking, talented teams and individuals in the athletic program is very important at The O’Neal School. Though the official introductions and presentations are carried out by team coaches and Athletic Director Steve Dahl, the Booster Club plays a large role behind the scenes by sending out invitations and providing decorations and refreshments for these three seasonal ceremonies. The Booster Club also honors Senior athletes with special gifts of recognition.
Volunteers are needed to help set-up, decorate, serve, and clean-up on these very special nights.
Anyone interested in helping at our Fall Sports Award Night, please contact:
Fall Sports Awards Chairperson: Mary Dembosky -- maryfd00@earthlink.net
HOMECOMING PRE-GAME DINNER
This will be Booster Club’s second year to offer a meal before O’Neal’s Homecoming Game set for January 8, 2010.
Volunteers are needed that day from approximately 4 PM to 6 PM to help set up, serve, and clean up. If you are interested in coordinating this event or are available to help on that day for all or part of the time, please contact:
Mary Dembosky -- maryfd00@earthlink.net
VALENTINE GIFT BAGS
The Booster Club Valentine's bags are a fun gift parents can pre-order to surprise their Middle and Upper School students. The bag is filled with goodies and spirit items by Booster volunteers. Booster Club members deliver these bags to your student’s locker on Valentine’s Day with an attached special message from you.
Volunteers are needed to help fill the bags prior to Valentine’s Day and deliver them to the students’ lockers after school the day before Valentine’s. If you are available to help, please contact:
Chair: Sheri Sullivan -- sheri.sullivan@embarqmail.com
SPORTS PHYSICALS
Each spring, Dr. Darryl Simpkins of Sandhills Emergency Physicians, a former O’Neal parent, provides an opportunity for students to receive their sports physicals on campus. These physicals meet the requirements to participate in all O’Neal sports. Fees collected for these physicals are donated to the Booster Club by Dr. Simpkins.
Volunteers are needed that day to sign-in students, be sure they have their physical forms filled out (provided to them that day), collect fees, assist with height and weight taking, and make copies of the physical forms. If you are interested in helping, please contact:
