MAKING A DIFFERENCE

From the Lower School
Thank you for taking time to be with us at Open House on Tuesday evening. It was a great time for you to learn a little more about your child's daily schedule, see the classrooms up close and visit with the teachers. I had so many positive comments shared with me by parents, and I look forward to letting teachers know the many good things that I heard from you.
Thank you also for getting your Sally Foster orders turned in by today. Remember that you can continue to order online (www.sallyfoster.com) anytime this year and the Parents' Association will receive 50% of the amount. The PA project for this year is the Middle School outside recreational area, and they would be very appreciative of your continued support.
Transportation Director, Dennis Rothery, did a great job conducting the bus evacuation practice on Wednesday. Though some of the students were a little reluctant at first, they all completed the drill successfully and also learned some valuable safety measures.
There will be an Odyssey of the Mind organizational meeting for all interested fourth and fifth grade students and their parents on Monday, September 15 at 3:30 in Mrs. Dominguez's classroom. This is a wonderful problem-solving experience for students.
We have enjoyed having the candidate for new Headmaster visiting in the Lower School this week. Our students were wide-eyed, welcoming and using their best manners. Dr. Kandel was impressed and made many positive comments! How could he not?
Next week appears to be a good long week with very few interruptions to our schedule. How exciting!
