Admissions Policies

The O’Neal School is a college preparatory school dedicated to the development of academic excellence, strength of character, and physical well-being of its students in an environment where integrity, self-discipline, and consideration for others are fundamental. The O’Neal School seeks to enroll students who both academically and personally will contribute positively to the mission of the school. O’Neal looks for students with a variety of talents and interests who have a desire to do their best and a willingness to participate.

Students must demonstrate the potential to be successful at The O’Neal School based on the applicable elements of the admission process. If school records and testing do not provide a clear assessment, O’Neal may require additional evaluation at the parents’ expense.

Additional Considerations

When making admissions decisions, the school takes many factors into consideration.

In the admissions process, special consideration is given to the following:

• Siblings of current or former students
• Children of alumni
• Date of Application

After a grade level is filled, the school will maintain an applicant pool. If a vacancy occurs, the admissions committee will review the applicants and make a decision.
