Admissions Process for Pre-K through Grade 4

Schedule a parent tour and conference with the Admissions office.

Submit the Application for Admission along with the non-refundable fee for each applicant.
|
|
|
Sign the Records Release form (for Grades 1 through 4) and submit it to your child’s current school. The school should send a copy of the transcript directly to The O’Neal School Admissions office.

|
Please give the Teacher Recommendation form to your child’s current teacher. The teacher will return the form directly to the Admissions office.
|
|
|
Schedule a student evaluation. Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First grade applicants will visit for a readiness assessment on Saturday, February 27, 2010 or by individual appointment. Grades 2 through 4 will complete admission testing on Saturday, February 27, 2010 or by appointment.

|
Classroom visits will be scheduled for applicants for Grades 1-4.

Admissions Process for Grades 5 through 12
|
|

Criteria for Enrollment in the Academic Enrichment Program
The O’Neal School Academic Enrichment Program serves students with specific learning differences. Applicants interested in enrolling in the Academic Enrichment Program will be considered based upon the following:

Average or above average potential as measured by an aptitude/intelligence test or a determination by the examiner that the overall score does not reflect the true potential of the student (due to factors such as language or auditory processing)

|
|
Significant discrepancy between academic potential and actual achievement
|
|
|
An educational/psychological evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist within three years of application
|
|
|
Students with primary emotional or behavioral problems are not considered candidates for the program.
|
Additional Admissions Procedures for the Academic Enrichment Program
|
|
Copies of transcripts sent from your child’s current school should include any testing done by the school, exceptional children’s information, progress reports and report cards. (The Records Release form is included in the admissions packet.)

|
Submit a copy of the Psychological and Educational Testing completed by a licensed psychologist within the last three years.
|
|
|
Schedule a time for your child to visit classes and to meet the AEP faculty.
