O'Neal Becomes a CrossFit Kids Affiliate

The O’Neal School is now an official CrossFit Kids affiliate, and last year's afterschool fitness club "FalconFit" is now part of the regular weekly schedule in both the Lower and the Middle Schools.

Middle school students can add CrossFit Kids, commonly called FalconFit, as an elective, and K-5
th grade students get CrossFit kids classes as part of their weekly enrichment schedule.

CrossFit Kids is a method for teaching fitness in a fun and inclusive way for ages 3-18. It is meant to be BIG fun for all ages and ability levels. Based on the principle of Mechanics, Consistency and then Intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good movement translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement.
