O’Neal’s Hart Attends Rassias Workshop

O’Neal French Teacher, Adam Hart attended the language teacher workshop created by the Rassias Center at Dartmouth College for four days during the last week in June.
The Rassias Method, or the Dartmouth Intensive Language Model, aims at helping educators teach language in a way that makes the student feel comfortable and natural in a short time through a specific series of teaching procedures and dramatic techniques that eliminate inhibitions and create an atmosphere of free expression from the very beginning.  Professor John Rassias began developing his method as the director of the pilot language program for the Peace Corps in 1964, and the protocol for the Rassias Method training has been well established through the collective experiences of thousands of teachers over the past 50 years.  His approach helps teachers convey to students that learning to communicate more effectively in face-to-face encounters should not be tedious; it should be stimulating, entertaining, and fun.
