O'Neal One Act Players Receive Superior Rating

The O’Neal School One Act Players brought home honors from the 2014 North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC) High School Play Festival, held at Pinecrest High School on Saturday, November 8th.
The theatre program led by Henry Hamilton, generated great Falcon Pride with their presentation of “Hamlette” at the Festival and their receiving the highest rating of superior for the overall production as well as excellence in stage props.

Cast and crew are sophomores Gracie Bell and Natalie Placa; juniors Madison Greer, Ian Johnson, and Katharina Riepl; and seniors Austin Gibbons, Emily McMurray, Bradley Miller, Alex Stroud and Teague Vreeland.

“Last year, our program received a superior rating with ‘Degas, C’est Moi’, states faculty advisor Henry Hamilton. “This is our second appearance in the NCTC Festival and our second superior rating. It proves to me that we have the talent to hold our own with the biggest and most established drama programs from around the state.”

For more than 30 years, the NCTC High School Play Festival has strengthened arts education in schools by bringing curriculum to life, challenging students to do their very best work, and contributing to the development of future audiences for live performing arts.
