Science Olympiad Teams Bring Home Bling at Regional Competition

O’Neal Science Olympiad Team participated in the Fayetteville regional tournament recently at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
The Middle School Science Olympiad team placed 4th overall out of 22 participating teams, earning the team another bid to the NCSO State Tournament in Raleigh on April 24-25. Since the inception of the program at O'Neal 7 years ago, O'Neal has had invited competitors compete at the state level for an unprecedented 7 years in a row, 6 in which the entire team will or have competed.
This year every member of the team earned a medal in their respective events! Another great performance!
The Upper School Science Olympiad team competed against 17 other varsity teams. Though the team didn’t place overall, individuals on the team earned the following medals:
6th place in Fossils – Bray
5th place in Forensics – Piper and Ria
5th place in Wright Stuff – Bella and Bray
4th place in Ping Pong Parachute – Max and Kevin
4th place in Sounds of Music – Ana and Shelby
3rd place in Protein Modeling – Ana, Nicole, and Shelby
