O'Neal's Yearbook is Dedicated to Bev O'Donnell

O'Neal yearbook "The Talon" was dedicated to our forever Falcon Bev O'Donnell on Tuesday. Bev's time at O'Neal started more than 25 years ago with her two children, Marci O'Donnell Davis '07 and Corbin O'Donnell '10. She served many volunteer roles with the School, including the Board of Trustees and Auction Chair.  Most recently, she was responsible for placing international students attending O'Neal with host families and overseeing their stay in the U.S. while attending O'Neal.

Bev continues to serve as a substitute teacher in all-three divisions allowing her the opportunity to get acquainted with many of the students. Her kindness and desire for comaraderie among the student body has rendered her great respect and admiration. The dedication was a pleasant surprise to many and well deserved.

When presented the award, Mrs. O’Donnell exclaimed to the student body, “I love O’Neal and I love all of you! This means the world to me. Thank you!”

Molly Haarlow’22 comments, “Mrs. O’Donnell is the best. She adds so much life to our school. We are truly blessed to have her.”

Middle School History Teacher Christine Birdsall remarks, “I love to see the relationships that she makes with the students, as well as the bond she has with all the teachers.”

This year’s “Talon” is themed “The Show Must Go On” as a result of O’Neal’s decision to have in-person learning this year and to have successfully accomplished the task with the support of the O’Neal community.
“Stability and responsiveness are qualities that featured prominently at The O’Neal School during this year, and I cannot imagine a more challenging yet rewarding time,” comments Head of School John Elmore. “Our community responded with resilience, adaptability, gratefulness, and a steady commitment to our greater mission. Despite the uncertainties, O’Neal has made every effort to ensure the best possible outcome for this academic year, and the actions of our community have epitomized the phrase “the show must go on”.
