James Obi Visits Global Issues Class

Mr. James Obi, president of Global Solar Solutions, Inc, based in Pinehurst, was a guest speaker at Heather Weeks’ Global Issues class in the O’Neal Upper School on Thursday.
The students have been discussing the energy revolution in Africa, the scarcity of energy and the need for renewable sources of power in Africa.

The class had been looking at companies that are inventing portable and affordable solar lights and Mr. Obi was a direct link to the business side of the industry.

In addition to learning more about the energy needs in Africa. An African himself, Mr. Obi along with one of O’Neal’s international students, Toyin Koleoso from Nigeria, were very interesting to listen to regarding the African culture and lifestyle.
