O'Neal Track Team Medals at States

The boys and girls track and field teams competed in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association's State Championship meet May 20 and 21 at the North Raleigh Christian Academy.
The girls team finished 5th overall and saw many individual successes. The highlight of the meet was Toyin Koleoso's individual championship in the 300 hurdles. Her time of 47.24 seconds bested the field by two seconds. Toyin finished 3rd in the long jump and 5th in the 100 hurdles. Teammate, Madison Fox edged her out at the finish line for 4th place with a personal best of 17.73 seconds. Other scoring contributors were Molly Kuzma, 8th in the 3200 with a huge personal record of 12:11.73; Catherine Huntley, 7th in discus with a personal best throw of 81'3" ; Destiny Gibson, 5th in high jump ; Zsanett Darabont, 8th in high jump; the girls 4x200 meter relay of Megan Bloom, Lauren Dailey, Destiny Gibson, and Tyra Marsh was 8th, and the girls 4x400 meter relay of Destiny Gibson, Madison Fox, Lauren Dailey, and Toyin Koleoso was 3rd in a very tight race.

On the boys side, the boys 4x800 meter relay of Josh Russell, Jack Casey, Jack Hendricks, and Henry Holland finished 7th. It was a great day of competition and we are very proud of their efforts.
