The Kindness Club Holds Fundraiser for Americares

The O’Neal Kindness Club (teacher advisor, Sarah Rojas) raised $707.20 through their recent fundraising efforts held from October 11-19 for hurricane relief.

The fundraiser consisted of students pricing and selling self-donated toys, baked goods and crafts, to help raise money for people who were affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. All funds raised will go to Americares, a health-focused relief and development organization for those affected by disaster with life-changing medicine, medical supplies and health programs.  www.americares.org

Kindness Club was formed to help spread kindness and consists of 9 Lower and Middle School students who meet weekly after school. It is for anyone who wants to help others and leave a positive impact on this world. In Kindness Club there are discussions about what it means to be kind and how one can show kindness. Students brainstorm ideas of how they can spread kindness throughout the School and the community. Many different ideas have surfaced, like fundraisers for hurricane victims, a food drive, a Kindness Garden, making pet blankets, writing kind notes and much more.
