Heritage Never Felt So Good

The 2nd Annual O’Neal Heritage Festival was held on Wednesday, April 18th. Twelve countries/cultures were represented and families had a great time touring the world learning about cultures and customs and tasting great cuisine. From the meatballs in Sweden to mehndi(body art) from India, to using chopsticks in China or kicking the soccer ball in Germany, students all had fun getting their passports stamped and receiving a prize at the photo booth.

Submittals for the Earth Day Photography contest were featured with the opportunity for festival attendees to vote –as a People’s Choice Award. Family tree projects and other art work were featured at the art exhibit. The little ones had a blast banging on traditional drums.

O'Neal families participate by educating attendees on their many different cultures. O'Neal's International Club also helps. The festival is growing to be a highlight to the school year.
