The O’Neal School presents…
Red-Blue March Community Service Challenge

Throughout the month of March, the O’Neal community will come together in a march madness inspired Penny Wars challenge to raise money for the Thirst Project. The month-long fundraising efforts will be kicked off with speakers from the Thirst Project joining the Middle and Upper Schoolers on Monday, March 4th to share about their nonprofit organization and to help educate us all about the global water crisis.

What is the Thirst Project?
Thirst Project is the world’s leading YOUTH water activism organization. We are a movement of high school and college students who build freshwater wells in developing nations and impoverished communities to provide people with safe, clean water. Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that travels across the United States speaking at schools to educate students about the global water crisis and challenges them to fundraise to build wells.

For more information, please explore their website at https://www.thirstproject.org/

How Does It Work?
Red and Blue teams will compete through a tournament bracket until we reach an ultimate winner on March 21st. Each classroom/advisory will have their own jug to collect money. They will gain points by adding pennies and bills to their jug. Feel free to lower other classrooms/advisories points by adding silver coins to another groups jug. Click HERE for more information.

Each week, jugs will be counted, and teams will advance in a bracket. Not to fear, if your team gets eliminated, you will be allowed to “join” another team by adding your coins to their jug. Working together we are excited to raise money to help support The Thirst Project in their efforts to stop the global water crisis!

And a Bonus Round…
To end the month long red-blue challenge, we will gather as an O’Neal School community for an afternoon of service. Together we will work on our own campus, using our resources and hands to beautify our campus before we depart for Spring Break.
