O'Neal Middle School Holds Awards and 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony

O'Neal Middle School held its end of year awards and eighth grade promotion ceremony on Friday, May 24th. Emma Sager was chosen by her peers to be the eighth grade speaker preceding the distribution of Middle School Certificates. Below is a recap of the awards. 

Citizenship Award

Citizenship Awards are given at the faculty’s discretion to those students who have exemplified outstanding citizenship throughout the year.

O’Neal Achievement Award

The O’Neal Achievement Award is presented to one student in each grade who best demonstrates hard work and determination in pursuit of classroom excellence.

J. Gardiner Dodd Award          Alyssa Furie           
The J. Gardiner Dodd Award is presented to the one student who exemplifies improvement in the areas of attitude and scholastic achievement. This is presented to a student who works hard, is steadfast, and perseveres.
                                                                                                                                                                                   
James R. Miles Award             Kevin Klenzak       
The James R. Miles Award is presented to the student who best displays qualities of determination, unselfishness, cooperation, enthusiasm, and involvement in daily school life. This person should personify the O’Neal student at his or her best, one of whom we are very proud and for whom we have great respect and affection.
                                                           
Head of School Academic Award
The Head of School Academic Award is presented to the student in each grade who has achieved the highest academic standing in his or her grade.
