Week 1 of O'Neal Complete!

What an exciting week it has been at O’Neal!

Orientation is the word. Events kicked off with a special pre-kindergarten night on Monday, followed by a social for all pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade students on Tuesday morning. While the little ones were getting to know their teachers, surroundings and each other, all new families with students in grades 2-12 in addition to rising 5th and 9th grades began their orientation in the Hannah Center Theater, where they were introduced to the division heads and other key people on campus. Members of O’Neal’s student forum were on hand to take the new students to their divisions for a tour and ice-breaker activities while the parents continued to be informed about programs, the website and more in the theater. The orientation day culminated with a well-received food truck festival as the entire O’Neal Community was invited to take part.

Wednesday was the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!! As tradition continues, the senior buddies were on hand at McMurray Lower School to greet their new little buddies (1st and 2nd grade students), give them a special t-shirt and escort them to their classroom. The “buddies” all enjoyed getting settled and comfortable with their new place for the next 9.5 months. Some small gatherings in other divisions and all students were off to take on a normal school day.
