Military Appreciation Day 2019

O’Neal was honored to host its annual Military Appreciation Assembly followed by the Parents’ Association Breakfast on Friday, November 8th. Thirty percent of O’Neal’s enrollment is active military families not to mention all of the families with Veteran relatives. The assembly included musical performances and the Pledge of Allegiance led by students, the presentation of a hand-crafted flag from the Afable family and a wonderful speech from retired Admiral Leighton Smith after being introduced by his grandson, O’Neal Senior Andrew Lewis. As tradition has it, the event concluded with all of the veterans and military families gathered on the gym floor for the National Anthem, performed by the O’Neal Chorus. Families of active military and veterans were then hosted a complimentary breakfast from Pete’s Family Restaurant and the Parents’ Association.
