Fall Sports Competition Safety Protocols

We are excited to begin competition for our teams next week.

The NCISAA has implemented stringent safety protocols to ensure the health and well being of our families and student-athletes.

Please read below. Adherence to these measures will prolong competition and provide the best chance of us completing our Fall Sports Seasons.

1. No spectators are allowed at any sporting event this Fall. Per NCISAA regulations - student-athletes will be removed from competition if this is breached.

2. Transportation will be provided by O’Neal when possible. Parents can choose to drive their student-athletes to contests if they prefer. When it is not possible for O’Neal to provide transportation, parents will be asked to transport their student-athletes. However, no carpooling is allowed. Exception: If students are from the same family. Student-athletes will be socially distanced and masked when being transported.

3. Student-athletes must bring their own water bottles to events. No water stations will be provided.

4. Masks must be worn unless in direct competition. Masks must be worn by substitutes, coaches, etc. Masks must be worn as soon as a student-athlete is out of competition (i.e. is replaced by a substitute or at the end of their contests and immediately after completion of competition). Furthermore, 6ft social distancing must be adhered to at all times when not in direct competition.

5. Hand sanitizer must be used immediately prior to and immediately following competition.

6. For all away matches and meets students must adhere to all the visitor school guidelines.

7. Any breach of protocol will result in immediate action and jeopardize any further competition for the individual and or the team.

8. Teams are not allowed to meet to stop for food on the way home.

9. No sharing of towels, equipment (rackets, wipes, water bottles).

10. Please pack healthy snacks as athletes will need some nourishment prior to competition.
