Fifth Grade and Upper School Anatomy Class Join to Study Mummification

As a culminating project on Ancient Egypt, fifth grade science students partnered with Ms. Watkins' upper school anatomy class to learn more about the human body via an interactive lesson centered on the stomach, liver, lungs, and intestines.  Together, the upper school students and small groups of 5th graders worked to mummify and store the (previously dissected pig organs) in their salt dough created Canopic jars.  What a fun way to make an ancient practice come alive!
