Falcons Bring Home Hardware at the NCISAA State Meet

The Varsity Boys and Girls Swim Team traveled to Greensboro Tuesday, February 15th to complete in the NCISAA Division 3 State Swim Meet. With strong relay performances and individual records and championships, the Falcons saw the Girls finish as NCISAA Division 3 Runners Up and Boys team finish in 4th place!
On the girls side, the Falcons started off the meet on a high, winning the 200 medley relay and dropping 2.4 seconds on their PR. Relay members were Victoria York, Lauren Hobbs, Chloe Abner, and Michaela Stone.
 
Individually, Lauren Hobbs podiumed finishing 3rd in the 100 breaststroke, and also finished 5th in the 200 IM. Also scoring for the Falcons in individual events were Victoria York placing 4th place in the 200 free and 6th in the 500 free, Chloe Abner placed 5th in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, Michaela Stone placed 8th in the 100 backstroke and 12th in the 100 free, Morgan Lewis placing 7th in the 200 free and 16th in the 100 free, and Jordin Reed placing 9th in the 100 free. In the relays, the 200 yard freestyle relay of Jordin Reed, Morgan Lewis, Grace Simpson and Michaela Stone finished 6th, and the 400 freestyle relay of Chloe Abner, Lauren Hobbs, Morgan Lewis, and Victoria York finished 3rd.
 
On the boys side, there were numerous personal records swam on the day, seeing the boys get new PR’s on 85% of their races. Individually, John Shepard placed 6th in the 200 free and 5th in the 100 back, Sam Schmitz finished 9th in the 200 free and 8th in the 500 free, Alex Grimshaw placed 10th in the 200 IM and 9th and 100 free, Radford Walker placed 8th in the 100 fly and 15th in the 200 IM, Henry Reibe placed 9th in the 50 free and 10th in 100 fly, Jace Brown finished 11th in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 free, Andrew Davis finished 14th in the 100 back and Nathan Brianas finished 12th in the 100 breaststroke.
 
In the relays, the 200 medley relay of John Shepard, Alex Grimshaw, Radford Walker and Jace Brown finished 7th. The 200 free relay of Radford Walker, Andrew Davis, Sam Schmitz, and Henry Reibe finished 4th, while the 400 free relay team of John Shepard, Jace Brown, Henry Reibe, and Alex Grimshaw placed 7th.
