DESCRIPTION
Middle School Science Olympiad is for students in grades 5-9 who have a desire to . . . 
  • work with a partner(s)
  • work as a team
  • stay committed
  • step out of their comfort zones
  • learn from your mistakes
  • accept victory with humility and defeat with honor
. . . all are welcome to learn and  benefit from being a part of the O’Neal Science Olympiad tradition.
 
WHEN & WHERE
Students can meet after school up until 4:00 pm every day in Room 9 of the Middle School. This is not mandatory.
 
There will be Saturday practices that are scheduled that do require an 80 – 90% attendance record. These average out to be about 2 practices per month. Look for notice of a parent/student meeting to be scheduled for mid-September.
 
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
O’Neal is hosting a Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament on December 9th in preparation for the regional competition in February followed by the state competition in April in in Raleigh. Every student who joins Science Olympiad will be able to compete in the O’Neal Invitational as well as the Regional Tournament.
