Upper School Chemistry Students Have an Explosive First Day.

Mr. Poole’s chemistry students were treated to an exciting “first day in chemistry class”. From mixing zinc with hydrochloride, Mr. Poole was able to cover biology - what happens to food when it mixes with the hydrochloride in your stomach; chemistry – a balloon filled with hydrogen gas is lighter than oxygen; and last but not least, history – the Hindenburg disaster. No matter the many conspiracies, hydrogen gas is highly flammable.
