Middle School A Girls Basketball:
The O'Neal Middle School girls' basketball team is off to an exciting start as they recently concluded tryouts, and after a few productive practice sessions, they had their first scrimmage at Cary Christian this Tuesday. The scrimmage provided a valuable early-season assessment, allowing the team to gauge their starting point and identify areas for improvement as they progress through the season. This initial test serves as a promising foundation for the team's growth and development, highlighting their commitment to honing their skills and achieving success in the games ahead.

Middle School A Boys Basketball:
The Falcons are rolling back into another Winter Season of basketball. The Falcons traveled to Cary Christian School for a scrimmage to jump-start the season. While only having minimal practice time, the Falcons showed some positive attributes that will evolve this season. The Falcons played a great Cary Christian team but put up a hard fight against the competition. The Falcons had a multitude of scorers during the game Jackson Mullis, Ford Kuester, Caleb Jones, Jackson Graves, and Owen West. The Falcons look to show some great basketball this season! The Falcons are on the road for their first regular season matchup against Cape Fear Christian Academy on Monday! Go Falcons!

Out of Season in the Performance Room:
Strength and Conditioning Coach Pierce Adams is excited as next week marks the start of offerings in the Performance Room to the out-of-season (OOS) athletes on campus. Starting Monday (11/13/23), spring and fall athletes will have the chance to improve their fitness and strength in two groups over the winter.

Group A will meet Tues, Thurs, Fri 4:15 PM-5:00 PM

Group B will meet Mon, Wed, and Thurs 5:00-5:45 PM and will specifically accommodate soccer athletes. After the NCISAA dead period ends, Coach Kegl will host soccer practices before PR trainings from 3:30 pm-4:45 pm. The dead period ends on November 27, 2023 (after Thanksgiving break).

There are two ways to sign up! Fill out the form linked here: https://forms.office.com/r/CnxfE352Dh/QR code OR send an email to Coach Hamner jhamner@onealschool.org for which group you would like to join.

Once signed up, each athlete is committing to a 4-week program (until the start of Winter break). Ensuring that they are at each training offered for their group, and notifying Coach Pierce if they are not able to attend.

These programs are proving to be a successful formula for building strength, preventing injuries, and ensuring peak performance on the field, court, or track. With their proven training program and the athletes’ dedication, the Falcons are poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
