O'Neal Commencement

The O’Neal School held its commencement on Friday, May 23rd in Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College. The commencement was preceded by a Baccalaureate Service at Brownson Presbyterian Church on Thursday, May 22nd.  Class Valedictorian, Lucia (Mimi) Ke and O’Neal alumnus, Lyman Woollens ’09 addressed the graduates. 
Mr. Woollens was a 2013 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. He will be entering the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine in the fall of 2014.
 
The class of 2014, consisting of 35 students, amassed a dollar amount of $1.4M in merit-based scholarships. Many students will be attending colleges and universities along the East Coast, and some students have chosen to go farther away from home such as: University of California at Berkeley, University of Chicago, University of Missouri and University of Mississippi.
