Dahl Awarded Doug Cobbs' Outstanding Achievement Award

O’Neal Athletic Director Steve Dahl was recently awarded the Doug Cobbs’ Outstanding Achievement Award by the North Carolina Independent School Athletics Association (NCISAA) Board of Managers. There have been but only three of these awards given so far. The award is based upon Steve’s many years of service to the NCISAA as an elected member of the Board of Managers from his athletic conference, in addition to his leadership in coordinating NCISAA cross country, lacrosse and golf state tournaments.

Steve announced his retirement effective July 1, 2015 at the beginning of the school year. “As this is his final year of service to our Board of Managers, it was felt appropriate to recognize him with this significant award,” states NCISAA Executive Director Chuck Carter. “Steve was always able to make things happen across the state when it came time to procure what we needed to have a tournament for our athletes. He is someone who once he makes a commitment to do something, does not need to be asked a second time. He takes the ball and runs with it.”

In September of this school year, Steve was also awarded for his 23 years of service to the NCISAA.
