Honor Council Members are Inducted

Four O’Neal Upper School students were recently elected to its Honor Council. An induction ceremony was held before their peers on Tuesday, September 22nd.

After hearing speeches from Honor Council candidates, Tyler Jordan ’21, Nathan Brianas ’22, Stephanie Ducker ’22 and Kanye McKeithen ‘23 were elected by their faculty and peers as permanent members joining current juniors George Casey, Jalen Lindsey and Morin Samples. Honor Council Advisor is Upper School faculty member David Williamson.

The Honor Council is student-administered and guided by an advisor. It seeks to uphold the School’s mission statement and philosophies by promoting these characteristics while also dealing with those activities that are contrary to the School’s Honor Code.

In keeping with the School’s Honor Code, there are no locks on lockers and students publicly pledge to adhere to its standards, whereby they work and play accordingly in the classroom, on the playground, in a sport or on stage. Upper School students signed the Honor Code earlier this year.
