Falcons Rise to the Moment: MS Boys Capture SEMSAC Championship

Jen Hamner, Assistant Athletic Director
The Middle School Boys Basketball Falcons entered the SEMSAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed, facing a challenging road to a championship. Their postseason journey began with a highly contested semifinal matchup on the road against No. 2 seed Fayetteville Academy. In a physical, uphill battle that required grit and composure, the Falcons dug deep and pulled out a narrow overtime victory, proving early that this group was prepared for the moment.
On the opposite side of the bracket, No. 4 seed Village Christian stunned top-seeded Berean Baptist, setting the stage for a championship showdown on Thursday night in the Hannah Center Gym. From the opening tip, it was clear this game felt special because it was special.
The Falcons displayed heart, hustle, and togetherness on both ends of the floor. Strong defensive pressure, disciplined execution, and unselfish play defined the night. The Falcons built a ten-point lead by halftime, opened the fourth quarter ahead 39–28, and never lost their composure down the stretch, ultimately securing a 55–43 championship victory.

Offensively, multiple Falcons reached double figures, a direct reflection of the team’s trust and willingness to play for one another. Every possession showed purpose. Every player contributed. Mistakes were brushed off, teammates were met with high fives and encouragement, and the focus immediately shifted to the next play.

This group never wavered in its belief in each other. Through adversity, pressure, and expectation, the Falcons stayed connected and resilient. They demonstrated the true heart of what it means to be a Falcon.
The coaching staff is extremely proud of the toughness, discipline, and unity this team showed throughout the season and in their championship run. A well-earned SEMSAC title and a performance that will be remembered.
