Charlotte is a princess with an attitude. She thinks she is better than everyone else especially the suitors her parents have invited to court. Charlotte embarrasses her family by treating everyone so rudely. Her father has had enough and tells her she will marry the next beggar who comes to the castle. Soon after a poor man comes to town and the King gives Charlotte to him as his wife and has her thrown out of the palace. The poor man brings Charlotte to his cottage and begins to teach her some lessons about being kind and humble. Charlotte eventually finds herself working as a servant girl in her parent's castle. She sneaks into a ball and is discovered. The poor man all along has been a king who disguised himself. The two are married and Charlotte is reunited with her parents and friends and they live happily ever after.

The show stars Taylor McKinley as Charlotte, Marshall Landry as King Thrushbeard/Minstrel, Aden Ellis as King Mortimer and Amanda McFayden as Queen Millicent.
