Calli McIntyre Crowned Miss North Carolina Jr. High School America 2015

Calli Brielle McIntyre, of Wagram, NC, was crowned Miss North Carolina Jr. High School America 2015, on August 9, at Pinecrest High School. Calli will represent North Carolina at the national Miss High School America Pageant to be held in July 2015 in Orlando, FL. There, she has the opportunity to win a $10,000 scholarship as well as a touring trip to D.C., a trip to Las Vegas for a photo shoot, and a four day stay at Disney's Swan and Dolphin.

Calli is currently an eighth grader at the O’Neal School. She is active within the community, and hopes to promote B.R.A.V.E. Building Respect and Values for Everyone, the official national platform and anti-bullying campaign of the Miss Jr. High, High School, and Collegiate America Organization. In the short time since her crowning, McIntyre has already read anti-bullying books to elementary school students and has delivered donated food to the Aloha Safari Zoo. Says McIntyre, “Everyone can benefit from B.R.A.V.E.  Bullying comes in many forms, across all different age groups.  I will help educate people on how we can identify it and hopefully put an end to it.”

Throughout the competition, there were three categories of competition: Evening Gown, Fun Fashion Wear and Interview with a panel of three judges. McIntyre took the crown by finishing first in interview, evening gown and fun fashion wear. Her overall high score earned her the crown and a trip to Disney World to compete for the title of “Miss Jr. High School America.” Calli also won the overall interview and overall evening gown award for the entire pageant consisting of Jr. High, High School, and Collegiate contestants.

The Miss High School America Pageant competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities to accomplished young women. It is the goal to provide outstanding young ladies the opportunity to compete in a pageant system that has the highest of moral values.
