O'Neal Welcomes Steven Lisk

On Monday, July 21, The O’Neal School will welcome Steven Lisk as Interim Head of School for the 2025–2026 academic year. Mr. Lisk accepted the role in June following the resignation of Dr. Dale McInnis, whose last day will now be July 18—earlier than originally planned.
“I am excited to join the O’Neal community later this month,” said Mr. Lisk. “Dr. Dale McInnis has been generous with his time to orient me to the School. His professional commitment and deep affection for O’Neal show clearly, and I am honored to have been chosen to follow him. I look forward to meeting all of the community in the weeks just ahead."

A North Carolina native and Morehead Scholar, Mr. Lisk brings over 34 years of independent school leadership, most recently serving as Interim Head at The Shipley School in Pennsylvania.

The O’Neal community extends heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Dr. McInnis in his recovery.
“I am grateful to the Board for the opportunity to serve, and commend them for selecting Steve Lisk to lead the School,” said Dr. McInnis. “I am confident he and our talented faculty and staff will help every student fulfill their potential.”

Stay tuned to learn about opportunities to meet Mr. Lisk to happen in the near future.
