Varsity Girls Basketball  
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Christian School: 45-38, W 
O’Neal faced Fayetteville Christian School for the second time this season and showed clear growth from their previous meeting. After winning the earlier matchup by just one point on the road, the Falcons came out with renewed focus and were able to create better separation while sustaining their intensity for all four quarters. 

The Falcons were led offensively by Sofie Itegie, who finished with a career-high 20 points, and Kennedi Hamner, who added 16 points while also providing a strong presence on the boards and on defense getting yet another double-double (11reb). Jordin Reed, Lilly Hobson, and Haddie Habets each contributed to the scoring effort, helping maintain momentum throughout the game. The Falcons' defensive pressure and improved execution on both ends of the floor were key factors in the stronger margin of victory compared to the earlier meeting. 

O’Neal vs Fayetteville Academy: 43-10,W 
The team then put together a strong, complete performance against Fayetteville Academy, setting the tone early and maintaining control throughout all four quarters. The Falcons jumped out quickly, applying consistent defensive pressure and moving the ball efficiently on offense to build momentum that carried through the entire game. 

Hamner led all scorers with 17 points, attacking the basket and setting the pace offensively. Reed contributed 10 points while anchoring the defense with strong on-ball pressure, and Reagan Lowth knocked down perimeter shots that helped stretch the floor. Eighth grader Habets chipped in with key minutes and scoring, rounding out a balanced offensive effort. Overall, the Falcons’ commitment to team defense has been a constant, as the group is allowing just 27 points per game on the season.  

JV Boys Basketball  
O’Neal vs. Fayetteville Christian School: 37–57, L 
The Falcons battled at home Friday night but struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm against a tough Fayetteville Christian team. Despite the score, the group continued to compete, defend, and look for ways to create quality looks. There were positive moments of effort and hustle that will continue to build as the team grows and sharpens execution. The focus remains on staying connected, trusting the system, and continuing to improve each day.
 
O’Neal vs. Fayetteville Academy: 52–47, W 
The Falcons bounced back in a big way Tuesday night on the road, earning a hard-fought victory over Fayetteville Academy. The team played together on both ends of the floor, sharing the ball offensively and bringing strong defensive intensity throughout the game. Communication, energy, and unselfish play fueled the win, showing great resilience after Friday’s loss. A strong team effort and a great response from this group.  

MS Girls Basketball  
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Academy: 26-27, L 
This week, on Tuesday, January 27, O’Neal Middle School Girls’ Basketball took on Fayetteville Academy on the road in a tightly contested matchup that went into overtime. The Falcons proved they are a strong second-half team, scoring the majority of their points in the third and fourth quarters as well as in overtime. Offensive contributions came from 8th graders Grace Chabalko, Haddie Habets, and Julie Wilson, who helped keep O’Neal competitive throughout the game. 

O’Neal vs Village Christian Academy: 12-19, L  
On Thursday, the girls made up their postponed game against Village Christian Academy at home. The contest was marked by aggressive defense on both sides and strong hustle throughout. A standout moment came from 6th grader Amiya Ravula, who secured an impressive rebound and maintained possession, preventing additional scoring opportunities for Village Christian.  

MS Boys Basketball 
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Christian: 36–31, W 
The Falcons earned a gritty home win Friday night with a strong defensive performance against Fayetteville Christian. The Falcons set the tone with active ball pressure, solid help defense, and great effort on the glass. Offensively, the team executed when it mattered and stayed composed down the stretch to secure the victory. A complete team effort built on toughness, focus, and energy. 

O’Neal vs Fayetteville Academy: 39–45, L 
The Falcons competed hard Tuesday night in a tough road loss to Fayetteville Academy. The group showed great fight and never backed down, battling defensively and staying engaged until the final buzzer. There were strong stretches of execution and effort that showed continued growth and resilience. This group continues to learn how to play close games and respond to adversity. The Falcons are gaining valuable experience for a tough team moving forward.
