O'Neal Falcons Announce New Varsity Tennis Coaching Staff

O’Neal Athletics is excited to introduce its new tennis coaching staff for the fall varsity girls team and the spring varsity boys team for the 2025/2026 school year.
Head Coach – Kim Wilson
Kim Wilson brings over 20 years of experience in tennis coaching, fitness training, and youth athlete development to The O’Neal School. A certified personal trainer, yoga instructor, and nutrition coach, Kim has worked with athletes at every level—from beginners to elite professionals. Her coaching résumé includes WTA players such as Kiki Bertens (WTA #5), Johanna Larsson (WTA #18), and Jessica Pegula (WTA #41), and her work in holistic wellness has been featured in numerous youth programs and national publications.
Tennis has taken Kim around the world, including to all four Grand Slam tournaments, and her love for the game runs through her family. Her oldest son played at the U.S. Naval Academy, her daughter currently plays at Emerson University, and her youngest is an avid player and multi-sport athlete at Union Pines. Kim is also the co-founder of the Sandhills Tennis Foundation, an organization dedicated to growing the sport and providing opportunities for junior players in the region.

Assistant Coach – Jeff Wilson
Jeff Wilson, Kim’s husband and co-founder of the Sandhills Tennis Foundation, brings a world-class level of experience to the Falcons program when his schedule permits. With coaching credentials that span more than three decades, Jeff has held collegiate positions at Duke, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, and San Jose State, and has coached numerous ATP and WTA players ranked inside the top 100. As a former pro tour coach and racquets director at several prestigious clubs across the country, Jeff’s leadership and technical knowledge are invaluable additions to the team.

Assistant Coach – Adrienne Van Hulle
Adrienne Van Hulle joins the O’Neal coaching staff with a strong background in competitive tennis and a deep connection to the Pinehurst community. A former varsity player at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, Adrienne went on to graduate from NC State and has remained an active presence in youth tennis through her own children’s development. Her oldest son is a rising freshman at Pinecrest and a competitive player who trains locally with Coach Wilson, while Adrienne remains closely involved in his growth on and off the court.

With nearly 20 years in the area, Adrienne brings not only her passion for tennis but also a positive and encouraging approach to helping student-athletes build fundamentals, confidence, and character.
