Greetings from the Upper School

March 22, 2019

Dear Upper School Families,
I wish you all a wonderful Spring Break! This week we had an amazingly full, albeit abbreviated week. We saw our penny wars rap up and we had an amazingly successful drive that will support many families and their search for the basic human right of clean water. I am exceptionally proud of the involvement and engagement of all our students and families in this endeavor. We are still counting the pennies as we speak! As of this writing (Wednesday Morning), we're going to shatter our goal of raising $3000 a school. This is just one small example of what we are capable of when we come together as a united and dedicated community.

This Thursday we look forward to our O’Neal Day of Service. I am sure it is going to be a fantastic event.

As another Friendly Reminder, as we approach the end of the school year there are many non-academic demands of our time. One of these is the completion of community service hours. Advisors have reached out to their advisees with suggestions, help, and support. Please ask your child where they stand on their hours. In many cases students have completed many more hours than our modest requirement. They simply need to submit their documentation. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we will help however we are able. The long break may provide opportunities for students to accomplish this requirement.

Have a great break and we look forward to an energized return to school!

Best Wishes,

Matt Jacobs
Head of Upper School
