Falcon Flashback | Jeff Haarlow '92

Athletic Hall of Fame Spotlight

Jeff Haarlow’s story is deeply connected to O’Neal’s basketball tradition. As a multi-sport athlete, Jeff played a pivotal role on the Falcons’ varsity basketball team during an era when the program was building its foundation for future success. His leadership and versatility extended beyond basketball—he was also a standout player on O’Neal’s soccer and tennis teams, showcasing his athletic range.
After graduating in 1992, Jeff continued his athletic journey at Berry College, earning a walk-on spot on the basketball team as a freshman and later receiving an athletic scholarship.  Jeff also joined the Berry College Golf team, where he earned NAIA All-American honors as a Senior.  His passion for the game of basketball led him to coaching, where he became the youngest four-year college head coach in the nation in 2002. Over an 11-year college coaching career, Jeff earned multiple Coach of the Year honors and guided teams to national championship contention.

Today, Jeff shares his expertise through Haarlow’s Hoops Academy and as a lead instructor for Breakthrough Basketball Camps, mentoring the next generation of athletes.

Jeff Haarlow’s induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates his contributions to O’Neal basketball and his lasting impact on the sport.

Join us on Friday, January 9th, as we recognize Jeff and 9 other Inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees! 3:15 pm reception | Recognition at half-time of the boys basketball game - starting at 7 pm.
