Middle School French Exchange Finishes Up with Another Successful Year

Celebrating the 7th year of Middle School exchange with Collège St. Michel in Bourgoin- Jallieu, France, 12 French students collaborated with O’Neal Middle School students during their stay with the O’Neal community. 8th grade French students worked on a slam poem called Romeo kiffe Juliette, a modern-day take on the Shakespeare play.  They recited and discussed the poem at morning meeting in French and in English. 7th grade students have been learning interrogative expressions, so they developed interviews and learned all about their French counterparts.  O’Neal’s visitors also interviewed O’Neal students in French. This project culminated in oral and written presentations on each French student. 5th and 6th grade students researched Kids United and their music and role in UNICEF.
The Middle School French Exchange is always a highlight for O’Neal every year. Much appreciation goes to those families who hosted a French student and the hosts.
