Lorrie Hogan Stewart stands out as one of O’Neal’s first exceptional athletes, leaving an indelible mark on the school’s athletic history. Her versatility and dominance across volleyball, basketball, and softball set a standard for excellence during the formative years of O’Neal athletics.
A Multi-Sport Star
From 1979 to 1983, Lorrie was a driving force for the Falcons:
  • 1979–80: Varsity Volleyball, Softball, Basketball
  • 1980–81: Varsity Volleyball, Softball, Basketball — MVP,  Athlete of the Year
  • 1981–82: Varsity Volleyball (MVP, Co-Captain, All-Tourney, All-District), Varsity Basketball (MVP, Captain, 1000 Points, All-Tourney), Varsity Softball — MVP, Athlete of the Year
  • 1982–83: Varsity Volleyball (All-Tourney, Co-Captain), Varsity Basketball, Varsity Softball
Her achievements reflect not only athletic skill but leadership and dedication. Lorrie was a two-time Athlete of the Year, a multi-sport MVP, and a member of the elite 1000-point club in basketball—a rare feat that underscores her scoring ability and consistency.
