The O’Neal School Academic Enrichment Center

The Academic Enrichment Center (AEC) at the O’Neal School is committed to offering a student-centered atmosphere that provides academic support based on each student’s individual strengths and weaknesses. Through a collaborative approach with students, parents, and faculty, the center helps students develop academic skills, personal responsibility, overall organization and time management skills, and various other tools for life long learning.

O’Neal AEC Programs and Services

  • Early Reading Intervention Program is designed to assist students struggling with reading in grades K-2. Through the targeted and multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham approach, students receive the necessary early reading intervention to allow them to progress to the grade appropriate reading level.

  • AEC Language Arts/English and/or Math is a pull out service available only to 3rd-6th grade students designed to serve those with diagnosed specific learning differences and/or diagnosed attention related disorders. Through remediating and focus on content specific skills, the AEC instructor prepares the student to transition back to the mainstream classes of O’Neal.
    *Extra Cost Associated and Current Pyscho-Educational Testing Required

  • Academic Coaching is designed to assist students in grades 3rd-12th in academic skills and concepts, test preparation, and organizational skills. Students work with an AEC teacher in small groups of no more than six students.
    *Current Pycho-Educational Testing Required (LS/MS: after first year in program)
