Falcons Nest - December 5

O'Neal Athletics
A weekly recap of O'Neal athletics.
JV Boys Basketball
O’Neal vs Sandhills Highlanders: 65–34, W
The Falcons hosted the Sandhills Highlanders and came away with a dominant home victory. O’Neal’s defense set the tone early, holding the Highlanders to just 14 first-half points with relentless effort and communication. The Falcons’ pressure defense forced multiple turnovers that led to fast-break opportunities and easy scores on the other end.

Offensively, the Falcons were locked in—knocking down six three-pointers and sharing the ball effectively throughout the game. All nine Falcons saw action, contributing to a complete team win. Jacob Lindsey led all scorers with 31 points, Andrew Hobbs added 10, Joseph Lucas and Harrison Buchan each chipped in 8, 8th-grader Tyler Kuhn scored 6, and Matt Davis added 2 to round out the scoring.

The Falcons continue to build momentum as they prepare for their next matchup Friday Night, 12/5 at Village Christian Academy.

MS Boys Basketball
O’Neal vs. Sandhills Highlanders: 41–24, W
The Falcons earned a strong home victory over the Sandhills Highlanders, using defense as the foundation of the win. O’Neal set the tone early with active hands, solid on-ball pressure, and great team defense, limiting the Highlanders’ scoring throughout the game.

The defensive intensity led to turnovers and transition opportunities, allowing the Falcons to build separation as the game went on. Eight different Falcons scored, highlighting another great team effort and unselfish play on the offensive end. The coaching staff was proud of the group’s energy, focus, and commitment on both sides of the ball.

The Falcons go on the road Friday 12/5 at Village Christian Academy for a conference matchup.

All School Cheer
All-School Cheer had a great Thanksgiving break and came back to school ready to learn new material and perform it this week. The Falcons did a great halftime performance at the Middle School & JV Boys Basketball games in the Hannah Gym on Thursday. Freddie the Falcon even learned a new stunt for the quarter break. The team received a tutorial on Game Day Signs that they made for the gym to add to the atmosphere.

A special shout-out to Falcon Cheerleader Kennedy Aytes, who achieved the UCA All-Star Cheerleader title at camp over the summer and went to Disney World over Thanksgiving to march in the Thanksgiving Parade. She represented O'Neal Cheer and made all of the community proud!

Look out for the team at the next Middle School home game on Monday, December 8th at 4 pm in the Tate Gym.
